I am seriously experiencing the First Day of School jitters over here. A million thoughts rushing around my head at the same time, extreme nerves surfacing, and mixed emotions. Why? Deciding on the topic for my FIRST blog entry has me wrapped up in the cold sweats.
If my initial post is telling you about my fashion addiction and the newest member of my shoe closet, I lose my foodies and health seekers. If my first post is about the BOMB chicken and vegetable skewers I made for my boyfriend to BBQ tonight, there goes my girls looking for beauty tips and product reviews. Should we talk about my sweet little pug boy? I promise, I am not a crazy dog Mom – just a proud Pug Mom with no shame. Should we dive into home renovations and decor? …..
*Light bulb Moment*
I am just going to dive right into it with a mixture of everything and give you a glimpse into my world. ( I promises to post on the above mentioned topics also)
K first of all… It’s August! Not only that… It’s the end of August! I swear when I went to bed last night it was spring, where did the summer go? I am getting ahead of myself here because the month isn’t completely over yet but I thought it would be fun to share my August favorites with you. These products are not necessarily new products that launched this month but rather they are the items that I have found myself loving this month and reaching for more often than others.
This summer I totally spoiled myself with these Valentino Rockstud flip flops but I had such a strong feeling that I NEEDED to own these. And I was right! They are so comfortable and completely adorable. These are a pricey flip flop and to make myself feel better about spending that much on flip flops, I’ve even found myself wearing them to walk the pug just to justify the splurge. They are tricky to find this late in the season but you can get them online at Bergdorf’s for $295.00 USD with free shipping. (* They are now sold out of black)
Formula 10.0.6 is a winner for me right now. I tried a few different ones from their line but love the Get Your Glow On Skin-Brightening Peel Mask. It smells amazing and removes dead skin cells, unclogs pores and banishes breakouts. For my Canadian girls, you can pick these up at Walmart right now for $8.97 or at Ulta for my Americans.
This little jar of heaven has been a staple in my nightlight routine all summer. Tarte always has products that live up to my expectations but the Pure Maracuja Oil is on the top of my list. It is great and safe on any skin type and I have noticed a huge improvement in my dry skin. It is not necessarily a nightlight product, you can also mix it with your foundation for enhanced moisture and anti-aging benefits and it will leave you with a dewy, radiant finish. It is on the pricey side but totally worth it. For a travel size container, you can pick one up at Sephora for $19.00 or a 1.7oz for $60.00
Being a diehard matte lip fan, I couldn’t pass up trying the Florence Fig shade from TreStique! It goes on like velvet, stays put, and doesn’t leave your lips dry or flaky (even when you re-apply). Plus, TreStique a cruelty-free brand so that makes it a total win win!! It is being sold at Sephora as a set (Matte Color & Shiny Balm Lip Crayon) for $40.00
When it comes to my finger nails, I am a shellac girl all the way. But on my toes I prefer a regular type polish. Trust Fund Beauty has the most beautiful vegan polish I have seen. The shade I have been obsessing over is Champagne Socialite which is from a previous collection and is only available now from Amazon for $15.99 plus shipping.
For years my go-to earrings were the Return to Tiffany Mini Heart Tag studs. I received these Michael Kors ones a few years ago but never had the courage to change my habits and give them a try. They have now been discontinued and replaced by a similar MK style – Pave Logo Heart Earrings which you can find either at MK or the Bay for $75.00
Since August is that weird kinda transitional month of the summer that is warm in the beginning and really cools down at the end, I have been reaching for sweater / ribbed tanks. If they are cropped, even better! Forever 21 always had a large selection of these for around $20.00 They look great on their own during the day with the sun out and layer really well for those chilly evenings.
Well, that is it from me for today and my favorites for August. Please leave a comment below and let me know what you think. Are any of these items on your favorites list this month?
XOXO.
B.
Love this, and love you 🖤
