Cinnamon Maple Roasted Pumpkin Seeds.

I suppose you really could eat pumpkin seeds all year long but there is something about October and pumpkin seeds that just make the perfect pairing.

Every year I try and roast my pumpkin seeds in a different way. I usually take the seeds from one pumpkin and make them the traditional salted way and do something funky with the other.

This year, I am falling in love with cinnamon maple roasted pumpkin seeds. It is the perfect amount of sweetness for a perfect fall snack. In order to get that great crunch to your seeds, after you have carved your pumpkin, separated and rinsed your seeds, you are going to want to make sure they are as dry as possible before baking them. You can either blot them with paper towel and lay them out overnight to dry or you can put them in a warm over to dry in a few hours. I prefer to do mine in the oven on a parchment lined baking sheet. To do so, all you need to do is turn your oven to 275 and then turn it off and stick your seeds in for a few hours until they are completely dry.

Back to business.

I am so sorry that I went a little M.I.A last week and if you don’t follow me on Instagram – you probably didn’t see that I was taking a little out of office break. My boyfriend and I had family staying with us for Thanksgiving and then a few days back to real life before my birthday crept up on me and I was super busy! But, we are back to business now!

That all being said above, I am exhausted. The last 2 weeks I have eaten so much that I really shouldn’t be eating, drank much more than I should have been drinking and slept a lot less than I should have. Last night my boyfriend and I had the first quiet night home alone and I took full advantage of it and had a mini home spa night.

When my mom came to visit last week she brought me such amazing loose leaf teas from the PEI Preserve Co. so I made myself a cup of the Black Vanilla Tea which I am completely hooked on, (thankfully you can order online because I am going to run out in no time) and had a detox bath. pug in a mugBefore moving on, Continue reading “Back to business.”


Sweater Weather.

If I were actually able to put my feelings into words and find a way to explain it to you – I still don’t think you would fully understand. I LOVE fall. I CRAVE fall. Fall makes me SO happy! Nothing bad can happen in the fall. Well, not nothing but IF something bad does happen to you in the fall – make a warm cup of happiness and snuggle under a warm blanket and I promise it will feel like your big problem just became a little smaller.

We have had an unusually warm September here in Ontario which I am secretly bitter about because like I said, I LOVE FALL (are you catching my drift yet?) Last weekend it was 35°c and my best friend and I were going for our monthly Sunday lunch together. She insisted we sit outside and reminded me “this could be the last patio day of the year” (For some reason, there was sadness behind her eyes when she said that but all I could think about was “hallelujah!” She won and I lost so we sat on the patio sweating and drinking ice cold drinks like it was going out of style)

BUT… the heat is over and we are back to seasonal temperatures here and I am breaking out my chunky knits, cozy scarfs and beloved boots. I can’t wait to go pumpkin picking, bake pies, watch Hocus Pocus and spend chilly mornings snuggling with Pug.
