Hello beautiful humans!
First off, let me just start by apologizing for my inconstantly around here lately! Life has been so insanely hectic over here in my little world for the past while and I don’t want to bore you with the details or necessarily bring you into all the drama either – I’m sure you all have enough of your own!
I haven’t really talked about what has been going on with my life recently and that is for a few reasons. Reason one, I don’t want to bore you. I hate when I am used to certain types of content and then all of a sudden it changes lanes into something that I don’t relate to or care about. Reason two, I haven’t really had the time to sit and translate everything into words on a screen for you.
I hope I don’t bore you but here we go…
This girl is engaged!!
I promise not to overload your beautiful feeds with my lovey dovey-ness but I mean, it’s bound to pop up here and there! I’m excited, what can I say!! Sorry, not sorry at all!!
We have decided that we are going to run away next March with a very small group and exchange our vows together in Jamaica. Actually, we prefer the word intimate over small. We got engaged on vacation and we love to travel so a destination wedding just suits us best!
Since we are doing an intimate destination wedding, we wanted to have a way to still have a big celebration with all of our family and friends. Enter, the engagement party!
On Saturday June 1st, we had 67 of our closest friends and family members over to our house for our engagement party! It was a lot of work to pull it all together and a lot of prayers went to the big man upstairs asking for good weather. We could fit all 67 guests in our house but it wouldn’t have been ideal so using out backyard was our main goal!
Like I said, it was a lot of work! It was a lot of DIY crafting into the wee hours of the night. It was a lot of pinning to Pinterest boards. It was a lot of sketching out table lay outs and decoration placements. It was a lot of list making and then making even more lists on top of those. It was a lot of cooking, a lot of slicing, a lot of dicing, you name it and there was a lot of it!
Over the next couple of weeks I’ll share the details with you on the blog. I’ll share my DIY projects and all my recipes, even what we did as favours and photos of it all coming together!
Are you recently engaged? Are you planning an engagement party? Planning a wedding? Planning anything at all? Let me know what you’re up to and how I might be able to help answer any questions! I have spent so much time planning this party and now that it’s over I feel bored so let me help you!!
